PEACE WITH FINLAND
(Wirtschafts - Friede mit Findland)

1918, Cast bronze, Commemorative medal, 58.2mm, 59.20g, Frankenhuis 1481.

Obverse:  Caduceus, on either side, a cornucopia filled with vegetables and fruit. Inscription, "Wirtschafts • Friede • mit • Finnland" (Economic peace with Finland). Evergreen with berries at bottom.

Reverse: German eagle, on the bow of a viking vessel. Dove of peace with olive branch, flying along side above; sun with human face. Border inscribed, "7. Mærz 1918" (March 7, 1918). K•G in exergue.

Fresh to current market from an old 70+ year old collection.  Beautiful antique 'skin'.
