Obverse: Bust of Lord Northcliffe, sharpening a goose quill on a file from which issues a frog (lies). Before him, an ink well, inscribed, “Hetztinte” (Inciting ink). KG just above.
Reverse: Lord Northcliffe in the character of a devil, seated on a globe which he has set on fire, distributing newspapers such as Times, Daily Mail, Evening News, Matin, Nowoje Wremja. Globe, inscribed, 1914. In border, “Der Bearbeiter der Englisch. Volksseele” (The moulder of English public opinion)
Iron examples guarantee production during the war. Beautiful slight oxidation patina in select recessed areas.
