On the occasion of Rumania’s declaration of war against Austria on August 27, 1916. It was felt by the Austrian-German powers that Rumania’s entry had been bought with gold by the Entente. The presentation on the scale indicates that gold weighed heavier than the agreements. The dice indicate the gamble with money paid off for the Entente.
